‘There is a crack, a crack in everything That&#39;s how the light gets in’ In my Anthem series, I explore Leonard Cohen’s well known refrain with a cracked mirror as motif. These works suggest that the broken, the fissured and the fractured can show us the world from a new perspective, reflecting things that are not visible in the whole and pristine. 
I wanted the dried rose to be the point of fracture—the notion that something so light and fragile could crack a mirror was quite poetic to me. So the idea is that the dried/dead rose breaks the mirror, which can then reflect the image of living roses. It’s about life and death and fragility and &#39;true&#39; reflection.

“#1: Weighted Whispers” (“Walled Garden” collection) 
This is the genesis piece of the Walled Garden collection. It was originally created for the live dance performance Irina &amp; Dr. Formalyst, which was exclusively presented on the Main Stage at the NFC Summit in 2024. This piece serves as a bridge between physical dance and the digital representation of movement.

“Weighted Whispers&#34; portrays how constant criticism and judgment during one&#39;s formative years can accumulate and become internalized, undermining personal growth and self-esteem. Dr. Formalyst and choreographer Irina Angles illustrate the personal struggle against restrictions set by others, as well as the self-imposed limitations we place on ourselves.

The artists transform real-world dance using CGI and AI visuals, paired with self-recorded voices transformed by AI, to capture the nearly universal experience of grappling with internalized self-doubt as part of the journey into adulthood.

“#1: Weighted Whispers”  by Irina Angles &amp; Dr. Formalyst

The Compost Series explores forms of deceleration and regeneration, using video game technologies fused with conventional painting techniques. Here, the creation of digital images and sculptures takes sideroads and follows a realization made of accidents and multipass dialogues with machines.

This experimental photogrammetry process consists of working with a reduced number of photographs, varying focal lengths, photographing subjects too close, or causing willful errors when photographing moving subjects. The textures are then painted and blended into compositions in 3D modeling software. By creating a digital strangeness and effects associating sublime and digital defects, the artist&#39;s interventions give back to the living its share of disorder and indeterminacy.

Humans have left their trace on the world; by now, we are everywhere. We have littered the tallest mountains. Microplastics have been found at the bottom of the deepest ridges of the ocean.
Mise en Scène is, as the title references, a composed piece of nature, a reflection of what is real. Every photo is staged by the observer, just as every artwork is. 
 The captivating beauty of the scene and the murmuring entities have intentionally been slashed across by power lines. As a reminder of the nature we once took for granted and the one we now inhabit. Our ongoing destruction is constantly repeated and reflected in this very moment.

&#34;Hey Machine, show me what human connection looks like.&#34; This artwork poses this question every 5 minutes, and AI responds. As AI technology rapidly evolves, we&#39;re increasingly asking: Is this created by a human or a machine? The distinction is becoming blurred. While the idea of an &#39;AI Takeover&#39; has long been explored in science fiction, many experts believe a robot uprising is unlikely. However, the question remains: Will machines ever replace us?
Human axons transmit signals at around 120 m/s, while computer signals travel near the speed of light, solving problems millions of times faster. So, what do we possess that machines never will? &#34;Hey Machine&#34; explores this question through art, juxtaposing human emotion with machine logic. Visuals are crafted by Morten Lasskogen, while responses are generated live by AI, with the behind-the-scenes work handled by Tobias Svane.
